Part 3
A sightseeing detour through Glory Days, a nation of undersea air-bubbles governed by the blustery Glorious Defense Force, curdles into an unwitting brush with revolution. Shipwrecked, imprisoned, and swept along by a fervent partisan movement, Mr. Grey and his companions chase rumors of a legendary golden treasure across lava rivers, quiz-asking goats, misty ruined cities, and a marching war-colossus. Played for deadpan bureaucratic comedy against a backdrop of fish-god cosmology, it’s a Part about small courtesies colliding with big consequences, and how far a quietly principled man will go before he must finally take a side.
Chapter 1 - Shipwrecked
Mr. Grey, Honeydew, and Tom wash ashore shipwrecked in the vast Abyssal Desert, besieged by woe worms, only to be rescued and detained by a boisterous Glorious Defense Force patrol suspicious of tourists.
Chapter 2 - Entertainment and Detainment
Marched into the Glory Days Rain-Fish Detainment and Entertainment Facility, the group is put to forced 'leisure' labor. Old finders Blackjaw and Slake resurface with a forged debt, and Honeydew hatches a risky escape plan involving a tournament.
Chapter 3 - Team Games and Candles
Sorted onto rival teams for a lopsided Whirlpool Coliseum Dodgeball match, Mr. Grey takes a hard hit meant to trigger Honeydew's infirmary escape plan, just as a real partisan uprising erupts and a mysterious candle-headed stranger intervenes.
Chapter 4 - Oracle
Rescued by Jodee's enthusiastic young partisan Nuggets, Mr. Grey debates whether to get involved in local politics as the group treks to a mountain temple, where a many-headed oracle spider debates milk bowls before revealing where a legendary golden treasure lies hidden.
Chapter 5 - Dragon Ferry
As Ordus and the finders close in, the group boards a lava-river dragon-ski ferried by a silent pipkin stoat, and Candlehead's grand enchantment is put to the test when a Defense Force galley gives chase.
Chapter 6 - Museumtown and Country
Amid a Museumtown festival, the group narrowly talks their way past a suspicious Defense Force patrol, then dodges the persistent finders Blackjaw and Slake through a maze of museum exhibits before finding an unlikely new guide for the road ahead.
Chapter 7 - Trivia Goat
The party must ride giant, quiz-demanding goat-grandmothers up a towering seabed cliff toward Antiquity, answering rounds of history trivia, with Honeydew's competitive streak clashing against Tom's earnest, often wildly wrong, guesses.
Chapter 8 - Tomb
Trapped inside a glittering gemstone tomb, the three are pursued by a screaming, unraveling mummy that splits in two to chase them separately, forcing Honeydew and Tom to fend for themselves in the dark.
Chapter 9 - The Lost City of Fountains
Camped in the fog-shrouded ruins of The Lost City of Fountains, an eerie mirror of Starharbor, the group settles in for the night, only for the still pools around them to erupt with armored, water-dwelling monsters.
Chapter 10 - Pothedge
Fleeing the lobster-monsters into a colossal, office-like cubicle hedge maze, the group is cornered by Blackjaw and Slake's latest threat, and an accidental tug at Mr. Grey's shawl reveals something about him even his companions hadn't seen.
Chapter 11 - The Golden Lure
After a monumental climb up the Stairs of Marble Unending, all while the Great Fishes debate his odds above, Mr. Grey reaches a hidden garden pond guarding a legendary golden treasure, where courtesy and music succeed where force would fail.
Chapter 12 - The Abyssal Desert
Alone and starving after crossing the Abyssal Desert on foot, Tom and Mr. Grey trade wistful talk of favorite foods before resorting to a desperate, awkward attempt at milking a wild cowsowhorse, just as its owner arrives.
Chapter 13 - Wargermopolis
In occupied Wargermopolis, Mr. Grey finds Ms. Maysey gravely ill and must weigh a costly bargain to save her, while old suspicions about Tom's loyalty finally come to a head amid the city's quarantine sickness and Defense Force scrutiny.
Chapter 14 - Swampus Maximus
A rigged cowsowhorse race becomes the stage for Mr. Grey and Honeydew's latest scheme to corner Diegeonary Ordus, though what Mr. Grey actually intends to hand over changes the terms of their meeting entirely.
Chapter 15 - Showerhouse
Relaxing in a steamy bathhouse, Mr. Grey and Honeydew press Ordus on his plans for both the Golden Lure and Jodee's growing rebellion, until an offhand remark from Ms. Maysey turns idle gossip into urgent strategy.
Chapter 16 - Cowsowhorseacropolis
Roped into infiltrating Jodee's marching siege-colossus alongside Ordus, Mr. Grey confronts the legendary Candlehead in a duel of enchantments, then watches, helpless, as a fragile stand-down teeters on the edge of disaster below.
Chapter 17 - Sleep Medicine
In the hollow aftermath of Cowsowhorseacropolis, a withdrawn Mr. Grey learns Jodee has fled to Dreamland by dream juice, and, still carrying invisible wounds, prepares with Honeydew to follow her there by falling deliberately asleep.
